SINOPSIS
Sábado. Cae la noche. El balón se mueve rápido de un lado a otro. Los cuerpos buscan introducirse en los huecos que deja la defensa. Lucía, veinticinco años, sale de entrenar a balonmano y va a buscar a su hermano en moto bajo las luces de una ciudad que cree conocer.
// Saturday. Nightfall. The ball travels fast across the court. Lucía leaves handball training and sets off to pick up her brother under the lights of a city she thinks she knows.
BIO-FILMOGRAFÍA
Álvaro Gago se graduó en Comunicación Audiovisual y Música en España, estudió teatro en Chicago y cine en Londres. Sus dos primeros cortometrajes, CURRICÁN y BOMBOLLES, se muestran y ganan premios en varios festivales de cine. Su siguiente cortometraje, MATRIA gana el Gran Premio del jurado en Sundance y obtiene una nominación a los Goya. En 2018 edita TROTE, el primer largometraje de Xacio Baño, que tiene su estreno mundial en el Festival de Locarno y nacional en el Festival de San Sebastián. También edita la segunda película de Marcos Marino titulada IN MEMORIAM, que se estrena en el Festival Europeo de Sevilla donde obtiene el premio a la mejor película española dentro de la sección Nuevas Olas de No-Ficción. Su último cortometraje de ficción, 16 DE DECEMBRO, se estrenó en el Festival de Locarno. Actualmente desarrolla su primer guión de largometraje titulado provisionalmente ALGO PARECIDO Á FELICIDADE.
// Álvaro Gago graduated with a degree in Audiovisual Communication and Music in Spain. He studied theatre in Chicago and cinema in London. His two first short films, “Curricán” and “Bombolles”, were released and won awards at several film festivals. His next work, “Matria” (Motherland) won the Short Film Grand Jury Prize at Sundance Film Festival, and it was nominated at the Goya Awards. In 2018, Álvaro edited “Trote”, Xacio Baño motion picture debut, premiered at the Locarno Festival and at the San Sebastian Festival. He also edited Marcos Marino`s second movie “In memoriam”, premiered at the Seville European Film Festival, winning Best Spanish Film Award in the New Wave Non-Fiction section. His last fiction short film “16 de decembro” (December 16th) was premiered at the Locarno Festival. Nowadays, he is developing his first motion picture script, provisionally titled “Algo parecido á felicidade” (Something similar to happiness).
